Emergency Financial Assistance for Veterans

No veteran should be left without support during life's most difficult moments. Our program provides immediate help to veterans facing urgent financial crises.

About the Program

At the L.J. Bridge Foundation, we believe that no veteran should be left without support during life's most difficult moments. Our Emergency Financial Assistance Program is designed to provide immediate help to veterans facing urgent financial crises. Whether it's an overdue utility bill, rent assistance, or other emergency expenses, our mission is to ensure that those who served our country have access to relief when they need it most.

How It Works

From request to relief, our process is designed for speed and dignity.

Submit Your Request

Veterans or family members fill out our short Request for Support Form outlining their need, along with proof of veteran status and verification of the financial need.

24-Hour Review & Response

Our team reviews every request within 24 hours. We understand urgency and make it a priority to respond as quickly as possible.

Documentation Verification

We verify your veteran status and financial documentation to ensure responsible distribution of resources.

Receive Direct Assistance

Approved funds are sent directly to help cover the identified expense, giving you breathing room to regain control.

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. Veterans of any branch (active duty, retired, or honorably discharged)
  • Immediate family members of veterans (spouses, domestic partners, children)
  • Grandchildren of veterans (verification of service may be required)
  • Proof of veteran status required (DD-214, VA ID, Military ID, or state-issued ID with veteran designation)
  • Verification of financial need (utility bill, rent statement, medical invoice, or other documentation)

Funding Limits & Guidelines

  • Each eligible veteran may receive emergency funding approval up to three times without an in-depth review process
  • After the third approval, additional requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
  • This ensures limited resources are directed to veterans with the most pressing needs
  • Every dollar comes from the generosity of donors and supporters who want to make a difference

Why This Matters

Unexpected financial struggles can happen to anyone -- an unexpected car repair, a medical bill, or sudden job loss. For veterans, these challenges are often compounded by unique circumstances such as disabilities, housing challenges, or transition difficulties after military service. Immediate access to emergency funding can be the difference between despair and stability. By offering this program, the L.J. Bridge Foundation helps veterans avoid deeper crises such as eviction or foreclosure, utility shut-offs that threaten health and safety, unpaid medical bills leading to collections, and lack of transportation due to car repair expenses.
